Electrification Business

ABB’s Electrification business offers a wide-ranging portfolio of products, digital solutions and services, from substation to socket, enabling safe, smart and sustainable electrification.

  • ABB i-bus® KNX

Designed to make buildings smarter, the well-established ABB i-bus® KNX system is based on the worldwide KNX standard, the first globally standardized system for the automation of residential and non-residential buildings. In this innovative system, all devices communicate with one another via a single bus cable which is installed alongside the normal power lines. This means that all electrical functions are connected with one another via the bus system. The operational flexibility of an ABB i-bus® KNX electrical installation allows the everyday working or living environment to be easily adapted to the individual’s needs – now and in the future.

  • Terra 54

Terra 54 is the successor of Terra 53, the best sold 50 kW DC charging station in Europe and North America. Supporting increasing electric vehicle (EV) battery capacities, Terra 54 enables continuous charging at full 50 kW at 200 – 500 V, while 200 – 920 V is supported by Terra 54HV. The charger is designed to deliver flawless and safe operation to all users, allowing installation in residential areas, including petrol stations, retail stores and offices.

  • SACE Emax 2

SACE Emax 2 sets a new circuit breaker benchmark for the needs of today and tomorrow, matching all the new grid requirements. SACE Emax 2 embeds more and more functionalities to become the all-in-one solution, able to manage low-voltage distribution systems. It can manage any conditions of the grid owing to advanced functions such as Load Shedding, Power Controller, ATS, Interface Protection, Synchrocheck logics, Adaptive Protection.

Motion Business

ABB’s Motion business is the largest supplier of drives and motors, globally. It provides customers with the complete range of electrical motors, generators, drives and services, as well as mechanical power transmission products and integrated digital powertrain solutions. ABB’s Motion business serves a wide range of automation applications in transportation, infrastructure and the discrete and process industries.

  • ABB Ability™ Condition Monitoring for powertrains

The ABB Ability™ Digital Powertrain is a suite of digital solutions including devices, software and services. It combines connectivity and data analytics ABB’s expertise to make operations efficient, predictable and safe. ABB Ability™ Condition Monitoring for powertrains optimizes the performance and efficiency of rotating equipment. It enables full transparency on all parameters for drives, motors, mounted bearings and pumps, and can also be applied to applications such as compressors, conveyors, mixers and extruder main shafts.

  • IE4 process performance motors

ABB process performance induction motors are tough, high quality products designed for durability in the most demanding environments and applications. They are ideally suited to process industries and heavy duty applications – sectors like mining, cement and paper – where motors have to meet high requirements for reliability, availability and efficiency in harsh conditions. These motors provide great flexibility for customer specific solutions and can be individually designed to meet the exact demands of the application. ABB motor will always be fit for purpose to provide the most cost-efficient and sustainable solution based on customer requirements.

  • DCS800 industrial DC drives

Tough industrial applications, from rolling out steel to turning a cement kiln require equally tough products. From wire drawing to running cable cars, ABB’s DC drives provide the day-to-day reliability and performance that is expected, with the flexibility to meet unique customer process requirements. ABB’s Automation Builder provides the engineering productivity to customize drive control. The DCS800 DC drives are also a great solution for non-motor applications like magnets, battery charging and electrolysis.
